This exceptional and unique chaiselongue was made by a student of Peder Moos.
It is a fine expression of the love for wood that Peder Moos sought to instill in his students.

This piece probably from his period as a teacher in Copenhagen between 1950-1953
Peder Moos functioned as a teacher through much of his life in addition to his work as independent cabinetmaker.

It was a mix of both being able to pass on his love for woodworking, as it was a way of securing a relatively stable source of income, as his own business was basically any thing but a business…

This piece executed in unpretentious beech wood becomes an example of how much careful and dedicated woodworking can add to a piece. With its soft carved and finely polished angles and profiles it is a thrill to touch.

It is the execution and feel of the hand that gives this piece life, not use of precious materials.

The graphically strong fabric has been careful cleaned and preserved and is an essential part of the piece.
